All Work and No Play…Makes Nicole Book Another Cruisefeatured
Work has been insane.
Insane to the point where my boss got me an assistant.
It’s crazy.
I’m sorry I went MIA. I didn’t expect my workload to pick up like this until holiday prep begins next month. I’ll start updating this blog again this week.
We’ve been talking an October trip for a few months. We assumed we’d go to Disney World, but as prices for that went up and prices for cruises went down, we decided to forgo this year’s Disney trip in favor of a cruise.
But what cruise do we go on? There is still a lot of the Allure that we didn’t get to explore, but we didn’t really want to go on the same ship twice in a row. Not after our over-indulgence of the Miracle in 2008 – 2010. So we began contemplating the Oasis of the Seas versus the Carnival Breeze. The Oasis would take us to ports we’ve been to half a dozen times, but would give us plenty of R&R time. The Carnival Breeze would allow us to explore new ports, but is so port intensive that we worried that we wouldn’t get to relax much.
And then airfare dropped drastically yesterday, so I put in my time off request (my boss immediately approved, which I can only take to mean she pities me at this point) and Stephanie kind of made our choice for us:
Carnival Breeze. October 26th. Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Curacao, Aruba.
We’re planning on the Oasis (probably) in May. For now, I’m just looking forward to a week away from work and the return of priority embarkation (because God knows that while the rest of my Platinum perks aren’t as good as they used to be, the beauty of Platinum embarkation will never fade).
We haven’t been to the Dominican Republic since our first cruise and we haven’t been to Curacao or Aruba ever. Excursion suggestions are welcome.
