Murphy’s Law Takes Vacation — The World’s Longest Dream Review (Part Six)featured
As I alluded to a couple weeks ago, this review (and the next one covering our cruise on the Dream last April) are going to shift to a pictorial review (read: more pictures, not so many words). Depending on how much time I have, our most recent Disney trip might be a more traditional review. And our upcoming Allure of the Seas trip in May will definitely revert back to a full traditional review (we just booked an over the water cabana for our stop in Labadee! Yay!).
Strawberry Shortcake from Sunshine Seasons. Yum!
World Showcase time! Conquering Food & Wine fest one booth at a time
Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise — Hawaii
Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki — Greece
Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey — Greece
Greek Salad with Pita Bread — Greece
I don’t know why we always see skywriters when we’re in Disney World.
Chicken Chipotle Sausage with Sweet Corn Polenta — Canada (holy cow, this was spicy!)
A $5+ sip of wine (what? I’m on vacation)
Maple and Moosehead Beer Glazed Salmon with Barley Salad
Cheese Selection (Aged-Irish Cheddar, Dubliner and Ivernia Cheese) with Apple Chutney and Brown Bread — Ireland (note: the bread was disgustingly dry, but that Kerrygold on anything and it tastes like heaven).
Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey’s Ganache — Ireland
Nothing tops off an afternoon of grazing like…a late lunch/early dinner at Le Cellier
They entice you with dessert before they seat you. As if you’ll still be hungry by the time dessert rolls around.
The bread basket. Well, pretzel rolls + some bread no one else touched because it wasn’t pretzel bread.
I wish I remember what this was formally called but when it comes down to it, it’s a salad with some apples and walnuts in some vinaigrette.
A meat and potato skillet with a side salad (also lacking a formal name because…this was a year and a half ago)
Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon (no time is gonna make me forget this steak. Melted in my mouth like buttah)
Stephanie and I decided to order a side of Poutine, having never tried it before. I imagine this isn’t all that close to authentic Poutine, or at least I hope it isn’t, because it wasn’t very good.
Some kind of crumble or cobbler?
A delicious semifriddo that is no longer on the menu, it seems 🙁
Full tummies are for the weak. Walk it off. Shop it off. There’s more Food and Wine booths to explore! Viva la France!
Sangria — Morocco (incredibly dry sangria, for what it’s worth)
Belgium Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream — Belgium
Ravioli Di Formaggio all’Emiliana — Italy
The miniature town setup in the Germany pavilion has it’s own little F&W Festival
How do I get a ticket into the bog? I wants.
It’s friendship, friendship, just the perfect blendship. When other friendships have been forgot, ours will still be hot. I’m not as clever as I like to think I am. That really is a song. We didn’t sing it. We just took the Friendship launch to the France pavilion for some more snackin’.
Creme Brulee Au Chocolat Au Lait — France
Parisian Cosmo Slush — France (aka the real reason we went from World Showcase to Future World back to World Showcase)
Back to the resort for some shopping and a late (really late) dinner at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory
Snacks from Karamel Kuche that we thought would make a nice late night snack. And they would have — if we had been hungry after a day of gluttony.
